My client is looking to recruit a Metallurgist to join their Basingstoke based team. Duties will include: *Provide advice and guidance on all material issues and corrosion problems as well as investigation of any problems that arise during fabrication (i.e., from welding, forming, heat treatment). * Work in conjunction with the Process Group to select material of construction for all Projects. * Support to engineering disciplines regarding matters related to material selection. * Produce Material Selection Philosophies and Material Selection Diagrams * Review Weld Procedure Specification, Procedure Qualification Records and NDE Procedures submitted by Supplier’s * Provide manhour estimates and technical write-ups for project proposals * Advise on all matters regarding selection of insulation materials, refractories and paint materials * Produce insulation, refractory and paint specifications and MTO’s * Review Supplier painting specifications *Select appropriate Cathodic Protection (CP) systems *Produce CP Philosophies* Assist with mentoring of graduates
Candidates should possess:
Education Degree in Metallurgy or Material Science
