Mobile Repair Technician - Electrical - Croydon
Salary: £25-26k Job description  

Overall Purpose  

To undertake both planned and reactive maintenance on Total Petrol Filling Stations within a set geographical area.  

Key Activities  

Activity 1 – Repair  

Planned and reactive remedial work with respect to; electrical distribution, power and lighting, electrical inspection, fabric, civil works, carpentry, painting, plumbing systems, drainage,  

Undertake the inspection of work carried out on PFS’s by service providers  

Organising planned and reactive remedial work to electrical distribution, power and lighting, electrical inspection, fabric, civil works, carpentry, painting, plumbing systems, drainage,
 

Activity 2 – Customer Service  

- Regular customer liaison
- Regular liaison with the Clients Customer Service and Administration Department to ensure they are kept fully up to date.
- Ability to remain calm and collected when faced with difficult customers, and situations, so a high level of personal integrity and respect for others is essential.
- Ability to communicate accurately at the same level of understanding with the customer.
- Honest and trustworthy.
- Is assertive without being aggressive. 

Activity 3 – Teamwork  

- Provide support, training and assistance to other team members, especially in your own technical specialist areas.
- To have an understanding and appreciation of our business to ensure you are able to talk competently about its objectives and products.
- To cover other geographical areas in times of holiday, sickness or special projects. 

Activity 4 – Cost Control

Plan and carry out work in a safe, cost effective manner.
- To be aware of and observe the environmental plan particularly in the disposal of waste.
- To be aware and observe any opportunity to reduce costs and improve standards and ensure those ideas are shared with your team. 

Activity 5 – Continuous Improvement  

- Report on any problems or issues supported by recommendations for improvement / rectifying.
- Ensure that you keep up to date with and have awareness of new products and new / improved working methods that can add value by improving quality and reducing costs.
- Good understanding of quality standards and systems. 

Activity 6 – Safety, Health & Environment

Good appreciation of, and comply with, all aspects relating to Safety, Health & Environmental legislation, FM standards, Industry Standards and Client Policies and procedures.
- Insofar as is practicable and within the scope of the role, ensure that FM Service Providers comply with the above.
- Participate in “Toolbox Talks”. 

Additional Skills and Experience  

- Must be able to demonstrate experience and relevant qualifications / experience in the following:

Electrical distribution
Power and lighting
Electrical inspection  

And in some of the following, fabric, civil works, carpentry, painting, plumbing systems, drainage with a willingness to further develop your skill base.

Strong working knowledge of building fabric maintenance. 
- Knowledge of building services water systems 
- Good all-round DIY skills. 
Used to regular interface with a diverse and multicultural customer base. 
Previous experience of working in a public-facing, culturally diverse environment. 
Basic IT skills 

 
FUNCTIONAL TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES / KNOWLEDGE 

Note: Training will be provided for desirable courses and will form a prerequisite of the position offered 

Qualifications

Essential
           

Relevant recognised electrical apprenticeship
City & Guilds electrical installation certificate Part one
City & Guilds electrical installation certificate Part two
IEE 16th edition wiring regulations
City & Guilds testing and inspecting certificate 2391
Relevant IT skills; basic use of email and Microsoft Office 

Desirable: 

City & Guilds Compex 7 & 8
UKPIA Safety Passport
Current JIB Card Holder including ECS test
CSCS Card Holder
