Quality Inspector

Department: Quality
Reporting to: Quality Manager

The Quality Inspector at is responsible for performing mechanical inspection of manufactured products. All functions are to be done in accordance with procedures as they related to ISO9001:2000 and are stated in the Quality Procedures.

Areas of Responsibility

• Responsible for management the inspection room. (To include cleanliness and temperature control).
• Perform the following types of inspections as defined by the Route Card and record on the inspection reports:

a) Receipt inspections for material from machining sub-vendors.
b) First article inspections including shroud probes for approval of turning and milling programs
c) In-process inspections
d) Final inspections per in-house and customer drawings.

• Responsible for the development of CMM programs (OpenDmis) in order to ensure the most efficient methodology in carrying out inspection and reporting of such.
• Responsible for the development of programs for the production of data for PPAP requirements.
• Reporting of non-conforming parts to the Quality Manager and relevant Project Manager. Identifying and segregating all such non-conforming parts.
• Responsible for the control of the Quarantine area.
• Responsible for the flow of parts and paperwork through the inspection room in line with Production Management requirements.
• Responsible for the purchase and control of company inspection equipment and the calibration of such equipment, external calibration and maintaining regular liaison and contact with the appointed and approved sub-vendor.
• Supports the company mission statement.
• Complies with established safety practices in accordance with the Company Health and Safety Manual and is proactive in communicating potential safety hazards to the Quality Manager.
• Performs other related duties as necessary.
