My Client specialises in the coating services to help extend the life of components in demanding environments where heat, corrosion and abrasion are a concern. They urgently require a Metallurgist / Materials Engineer to join their technical team based in Swindon to provide technical support to their thermal spray and weld overlay coating services and across the company's broad spectrum of materials related business activities. The ideal candidate will hold a degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline together with experience of welding or thermal spraying, or alternatively have a metallurgy background with experience of the oil & gas or aerospace industries OR similar. An ability to undertake metallographic analysis, interpret mechanical and chemical analysis data and perform investigations is desirable as is knowledge of wear and corrosion behaviour, heat treatment procedures and welding procedure qualification. The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients about technical matters and to work as part of a team is essential as are attention to detail, excellent report writing and analytical skills.
